Steve Burton, Carlsbad CA - (In a letter to Street Chopper Magazine)
I would lke you to consider my bike and its story for your magazine. This is not so much about the bike as it is about the builder.
Big Easy Choppers is located in Slidell, Louisiana just across Lake Ponchartrain from New Orleans. They were literally flooded out by Hurricane Katrina last year.
The perseverance, honesty and integrity shown by Terrell Miceli and his crew is truly inspiring. They built a great bike under the worst of circumstances. Imagine trying to put out a magazine after losing your offices and your homes to a natural disaster.
As to the bike, I wanted a big rigid chopper with a big engine and a lot of chrome. I got what I wanted. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
My bike is the first one completed by Big Easy Choppers since the flood. I am actually quite proud of that fact. Their story is just a small part of what has happened to people since the storm and flood. However, this story shows how some in the bike industry can recover and keep their word. It goes a long way in restoring some faith in human nature. |
